Our unique approach to distilling companies has energized both startups and investors. Startups can be referred to us, email us themselves, or apply to attend our event series, Distilled Intelligence
Attitude is Everything
A favorite quote of mine is one that my Mother shared with me while I was an undergraduate at Virginia Tech. I was going through a rough patch and my perspective and attitude were not positive. Mom reminded me that everyday I have a choice as to what my attitude would be for that say. Choosing a positive attitude and choosing to be happy are two related decisions that we all have the opportunity to make each and every day. Life can be difficult at times. Raising a family has its challenges. Work can be a downer if we do not choose our path well. Relationships and love are complicated at times. Starting a business can be an emotional roller-coaster. Life will throw things at us at times when we are just not ready for them. However, if we choose to have a positive attitude, life will be better.
Attitude is Everything, by Charles R. Swindoll
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company…a church…a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitudes.”
